Hailey Stewart – Editor-in-Chief
Hailey Stewart, the editor-in-chief of Blot Magazine and The Argonaut opinion editor, found a home in the student newsroom three years ago and never left. Her infatuation with all things writing and political culture is what drove the University of Idaho junior to pursue journalism and political science.
Hailey has a rather unusual passion for presidential families, the 1960s, em dashes and Fruit Roll-Ups. When she isn’t in the office editing or interviewing sources, Hailey is most often found studying, reading on the Admin Lawn or Snapchatting her mom.
After graduating in 2019, Hailey plans to continue writing wherever life takes her — preferably on a coastline. The New Yorker, Sunset Magazine and Capitol Hill would all be amazing places to call home after Blot Magazine, but she’ll be happy anywhere, as long as she is given a notepad and a deadline.
Savannah Cardon – Associate Editor, Copy Editor
Savannah Cardon is a senior studying journalism and animal science at the University of Idaho. She has been working in student media for almost three years. In addition to working for Blot and The Argonaut, she is education chairman for her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma.
After graduation, Savannah hopes to work for a print journalism organization, preferably an alternative weekly somewhere in California.
Aside from writing, she also has an interest in newspaper design and hopes to work for an organization that allows her to do both. If Savannah isn’t writing or doing homework, she is probably either obsessing over her pug, Obi-Wan Kenobi, watching “That ‘70s Show” or drinking copious amounts of coffee.
Tess Fox – Creative Director
After spending eight months in North Carolina, Tess Fox is back for her senior year as a journalism student and creative director for Blot Magazine.
She has a strange affinity for Jackie Kennedy, podcasts of all kinds and has driven across the country twice.
Her career goal is to find a job in brand management or creative services.
Tea Nelson – Marketing Director
Tea Nelson is currently a public relations major with a minor is business marketing. She is also the production manager at The Argonaut.
Her future goal is to work at a small PR firm with a focus on health and lifestyle brands.
Tea is happiest at the beach and hopes to live near one in the future.
Andrew Brand – Video Editor
Andrew Brand loves to create things.
He is a senior with an interdisciplinary studies major and an advertising minor at the University of Idaho. You will often find him climbing something, hiking a mountain or roller blading.
Andrew is fascinated with visual aesthetic and music, and he aspires to be a music producer and filmmaker.
Joleen Evans – Photo Editor
Joleen Evans is a sophomore studying environmental science with a minor in political science at the University of Idaho. She got her first DSLR camera in middle school and the rest is history. Outside of Student Media, Joleen plays trombone in the UI Marching Band and basketball pep band. Her other hobbies include asking to pet strangers’ dogs, yelling at people to recycle and spending too much money at Red Bento.
Nina Rydalch – Humans of Moscow Manager
Nina Rydalch is a junior at the University of Idaho majoring in broadcasting and digital media and psychology with a minor in Spanish.
Originally from Rexburg, Idaho, Nina was drawn to the College of Journalism and Mass Media and the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho.
Since the beginning of her freshman year, she has worked at both Blot and The Argonaut, and is currently The Argonaut Arts and Culture editor. She is also an ASUI senator and was the Vice President of the Residence Hall Association at the university.
